The winter months are finally here in Animal Crossing New Horizons, which means that not only are the seasons changing, but there are a slew of new critters to catch on your island. One of the new bugs for December can be a little tricky to catch, so here’s a guide on how to catch a Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Catching a Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Before we dive into how to catch this beetle, it’s worth pointing out that it’s only possible to find it when it’s snowing on your island, which is from Dec. 11 to Feb. 24. So, even though the Critterpedia says that the bug is available in December, it can’t be caught in the beginning of the month.
Once it does begin to snow on your island, you’ll notice snowballs lying around. This is the key to finding a Dung Beetle.
Occasionally, you’ll spot the beetle actually pushing the snowballs around. How do they do it? We don’t know. But when you see them pushing it, that’s the time to bust out your bug net and catch that sucker.
If it runs away, just look around for other snowballs on your island and you’re bound to find one eventually. And if there aren’t any more snowballs spawning, you’ll have to wait until the next day for more to pop up.
Thankfully, the Dung Beetle can be found at any time of the day so it shouldn’t be too hard to obtain. And if you have a duplicate, you can sell it to Nooks Cranny for 3000 Bells or you can take it to Flick get even more.
And that’s all you need to know about how to catch a Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing New Horizons. If you’re looking for even more tips and tricks, be sure to check out our extensive Guide Wiki or just search Twinfinite.
