These 6 Reveals Would Blow the Roof off The Game Awards 2019

Major Nintendo Reveal

Nintendo can’t go wrong this at The Game Awards this year unless they decide to announce something on the level of the Cranky Kong reveal for Tropical Freeze. Even the host, Geoff Keighley, was visibly disappointed.

This year Nintendo has a better pool of possible reveals to choose from. Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, and a new Smash character all seem like very possible options for them to show off. But, they’ll most likely save the biggest stuff for a Jan. or Feb. Direct.

No matter what it ends up being Nintendo fans are almost sure to go bonkers. All you need to do is watch a Nintendo Direct at Nintendo NY to see what I mean. They get loud for big announcements, so Keighley better get ready for that roof to come down.

Elden Ring Gameplay/Release Date

Honestly, I would be happy to just finally see some gameplay for Elden Ring. I’m not expecting a release date announcement at The Game Awards, but that would also be welcome.

The name power of FromSoftware is enough to drive the hype for this game. Sprinkle in a little bit of lore from Game of Thrones mastermind, George R.R. Martin, and you have an exciting prospect for a video game.

There’s sure to be plenty of hooting and hollering if this game shows up during the show and a 2020 release date would shake the building. I have to imagine that any gameplay would get a raucous reaction as well.

New Game Published by WB

There are two huge projects from WB that people have been anticipating for a while now. There’s the leaked Harry Potter RPG and a new Batman game. But, I’m willing to bet the latter is more likely to show here.

Either of these game reveals would be massive since both franchises have incredibly loyal fanbases who have been patiently waiting for their turn to celebrate. An announcement for at least one of these games seems to be coming soon and The Game Awards would be the perfect stage to do it.

I know Twitter is gonna go wild if we see a new Batman or Harry Potter game, but it’ll be interesting to hear the live audience reaction. There are sure to be some loud diehard fans of both franchises in that crowd.

Ken Levine’s New Game

Nothing will quite steal the thunder of the recent announcement of a new BioShock game quite like whatever the heck Ken Levine has been working on for the last handful of years.

Levine’s most recent project has been shrouded in mystery for years with just a meager amount of details coming out about the high difficulty and ambition of the project.

The original BioShock reveal was something that has stuck with me for over a decade. If the reveal happens this week at The Game Awards, then I can’t imagine it receiving anything less than a standing ovation.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the defining titles for PlayStation this generation and it was the start of a streak of unbelievably high-quality first-party releases from Sony.

It’s no surprise that fans of the game will latch onto any rumors that they read on Reddit, other internet forums, and gaming news outlets. As we get closer to the end of 2019, the online consensus is that we’re getting closer to Horizon 2’s launch year.

If they reveal what the PS5 is going to look like, then revealing this title immediately after would blow the minds of everyone in the Microsoft Theater attending The Game Awards.

Fable 4

It’s kind of like Half-Life 3, if you keep saying it’ll show up at the next event, then it eventually will. Maybe that was a bad example, but you get the point. Fable 4 is out there somewhere and it needs a reveal trailer sooner rather than later.

Fable is one of the most beloved RPGs in the history of gaming and its latest mainline entry will turn 10-years-old 10 months from now. The wait has been excruciating and some official confirmation would be nice.

If pulled off properly this reveal could rival some of the greatest ones of all time. The long lack of a title, the devoted fanbase, and the big stage of The Game Awards all mean that Fable 4 is primed for a massive fan reaction.
