How to Unlock the Four Secret Classes in Lords of the Fallen

It's not going to be a quick process.

While players get instant access to nine classes when they start Lords of the Fallen, they aren’t the only options. There are also four secret classes that anyone can unlock through different means. This works great for the replayability of the game, but it won’t be a quick time investment.

How to Get Every Lords of the Fallen Secret Class

As said, there are four of them. Three are tied to what ending you get, but one of them has a couple of different methods. Sadly, the three that require endings must be done on three separate playthroughs. This is because there are choices leading to each rather than a single decision at the end that lets you reload a save.

Dark Crusader

The easiest version way to get the Dark Crusader is that it comes with the Deluxe Edition of the game. Anyone who only bought the standard version can still buy the Dark Crusader by itself from whichever digital storefront for $7.99.

The in-game method requires finishing Isaac’s storyline, which begins when you pick up the Flayed Flesh after you beat the game’s first boss. You’ll need to interact with several Umbral Stigmas in Path of Devotion, Lower Calrath, Upper Calrath, and Fief of the Chill Curse. With these found, return to Path of Devotion (Vestige of Dieter) and head to the area with the Sin-Piercer enemy (the one with the large bow and accompanying dogs).

In this area, shift into Umbral. You’ll notice a wide area across a gap. Use your lantern to grab the spirit that makes the bridge connect and go across. There will be one Stigma in the middle of this area for you to flay, but doing so starts the fight with the Paladin’s Burden mini-boss. This boss is possibly the most human you have fought to date and will parry you, so be prepared. The boss doesn’t have much chance if you keep the pressure on with a co-op partner and heavy strikes.

Take the Umbral-Tinged Flayed Skin item you get for winning back to where you picked up the Flayed Flesh and shift into Umbral. There will be a door here that the item will open, and at the end, you will get Paladan Isaac’s gear set and unlock the class.

This will also allow you to summon Isaac for the Lightreaper fight in Upper Calrath if you don’t beat him in any area before that. It is best to wait to fight the Lightreaper until you can summon Isaac, as doing that will get you the Vengeful Reflection trophy/achievement for winning.

Lord

To unlock this class, you will need to finish the game with the Adyr ending, which gives the Lord of the Risen trophy/achievement.

Important note: DO NOT CLEANSE ANY BEACONS.

Beat every Beacon boss, but don’t interact with their Beacons at all. You’ll progress this the same way as with the Radiance Ending and get the Rune of Adyr from either the Iron Wayfarer outside the gate to Bramis Castle or after the Rapturous Huntress of the Dusk fight.

After the Sundered Monarch fight, take the Rune of Adyr to up Adyr at the top of this area, and it will be changed to the Empowered Rune of Adyr. Now, it is safe to cleanse every beacon besides the one at The Empyrean. Be warned that tough enemies now guard each of them, so be careful.

With the rest cleansed, head to The Empyean and cleanse the Beacon. Afterward, interact with Judge Cleric, who is lying on the ground. A cutscene will play where you meet Judge Clearic in a serene world. After that, the ending and the Lord class will unlock. This is the only ending without a big final boss.

Radiant Purifier

The Radiant Purifier is unlocked through the Radiant ending, which comes with the In Light We Walk trophy/achievement.

Cleanse all Beacons as you go; there aren’t any restrictions. But also know the second you cleanse a Beacon in this game without doing so with the Empowered Rune of Adyr, you are locked into this ending.

By the time you reach Bramis Castle, every Beacon should have been cleansed. If you are missing one, go back and get it. Follow the same path as the Adyr ending, but at the end, you will be pulled into a fight with Adyr, the Bereft Exile.

There’s no one enemy to fight here. Instead, you will need to kill the lesser enemies walking around, as they will randomly receive the mark of Adyr and become a threat. Each killed lowers the boss’s health bar until you can interact with him and end the game.

Putrid Child

You will unlock the Putrid Child class once you have gotten the Umbral ending and Back to the Void achievement/trophy.

There’s quite a bit of build-up to this ending, which is quite costly. You’ll permanently (until NG+) lose several very important NPCs by the end.

Once again, don’t cleanse any Beacon, as you’d otherwise lose an important NPC. Continue until you are on the path to the Scourged Sister Delyth mini-boss fight. On the last level before the ground floor, the NPC Damarose the Marked will be standing at a window, so exhaust her dialogue.

From this spot, you’ll eventually reach the area where Gerlinde is imprisoned. Kill the enemy for the kill and free her, letting her move to Skyrest Bridge. Damarose can now be found right before the Gentle Gaverus, Mistress of Hounds mini-boss fight, and she now has a shop.

Once again, exhaust her dialogue and continue until you reach Fitzroy’s Gorge. Damarose will be in this area to the back right, facing the Crimson Rector Percival fight on the other side of the area. Once you leave her, head to where she was looking and beat the mini-boss.

Continue in this area until the Ruiner fight, then shift into Umbral on that bridge. Follow the pathway over the side of the bridge up to the Shrine of Adyr. Damarose will be at the back of this area, at a different opening leading to nothing. Progress the game until you reach the end of the Sunless Skein and the Skinstealer fight. Instead of taking the elevator up, return the way you came and go down.

The back of this area will have a locked door. You’ll use the key from the Skinstealer to open it, and then you’ll use the lever to lower the water level. Return to the wide area leading to the elevator and jump down on the cages below to continue forward.

This new area, the Revelation Depths, will end with the Harrower Dervla, The Pledged Knight/The Unbroken Promise fight. After beating this boss, return to Molhu in Skyrest Bridge and buy the Umbral Scouring Clump for 50 Umbral Scourings. Take the Umbral Scouring Clump back to the Harrower Dervla area, head up the stairs in the back, and use it on the well. This will take you to Mother’s Lull, which will likely be the last location of the game you visit.

Talk to the first NPC ahead, and you’ll be given Damarose’s Seedpod. Return to the Shrine of Adyr and buy whatever you want from Damarose before using it, as it will erase her from the world. Once it has been used, return to Mother’s Lull, and you’ll get Gerlinde’s Seedpod. Repeat the process with her, but know if you haven’t gathered all three Rune Tablets and given the last one to Sparky, you will lose your ability to upgrade weapons.

After that, you’ll progress as normal until you get the Rune of Adyr like the other endings. Take the rune back to Mother’s Lull and have it become the Withered Rune of Adyr. You will also get Melchior’s Seedpod. If you haven’t yet, this will likely be your last encounter with the Lightreaper, which will drop The Lightreaper’s Umbral Parasite. This must be placed in one of the pillars surrounding Molhu in Skyrest Bridge.

Head towards Bramis Castle and fight the Iron Wayfarer. Once he has been defeated, don’t use the rune to open the gate. Instead, head to Fief of the Chill Curse, and after taking the route you first took and climbing that ladder, you’ll find The Iron Wayfarer in the Umbral Realm ahead.

Use the Withered Rune of Adyr on him to get Harkyn’s Umbral Parasite, which will also be slotted into one of Molhu’s pillars. Progress through Bramis Castle as normal and then after the Sundered Monarch, use the Withered Rune of Adyr on the shriveled body from the previous endings to fill Melchior’s Seedpod.

Talk to Molhu in Skyrest Bridge; he will tell you that the next target is Pieta. If your Sanguinarix isn’t fully upgraded, this is your last chance. Talking to Pieta and using the Flay option will start a tough boss fight against Elianne the Starved. Don’t worry if you lose; this fight will be where Harrow Dervla was whenever you are ready.

With Elianne defeated, you get her Umbral Parasite for the pillar by Molhu. Finish up buying whatever boss items you can. Talking to him now will allow you to go straight to Mother’s Lull. Use your lantern to move the platform to the end of the area, which will get you the ending.

If you choose not to NG+, know Molhu is no longer available. You’ll have to beat every boss again to access their Remembrance.

While this requires a big time commitment for each secret class, they will come naturally if you try to get all the achievements/trophies. For more of our Lords of the Fallen guides to help you get to these endings quicker, check out our links below.
