While Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has default settings, you can also freely customize the settings to suit your own taste and preferences. In Custom Mode, you can freely adjust the Enemy Threat, Hero Health Management, Hero Skills Management, and activate Invulnerability.

Enemy threat can be changed to Low, Medium, or High. Low means that enemies will deal less damage and have lower health, Average means that they will deal average damage and have normal health levels, while High means they will deal heavy damage and have higher health.

Hero Health Management effects your health after battles. You can choose to have health partially restored after every battle, partially restored after growing a level, or never automatically restored. Note that there are some skills in the Skill Tree that can change how your characters restore health in game making it easier to heal your characters in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Hero Skill Management will determine how the skills will be applied to your character as you play. You can either choose to have Hero Skills automatically added at the end of a battle so you do not have to customize your Skill Tree on your own. The Manual option allows you to freely customize the Skill Tree however you prefer.

Finally, you can choose to make your characters invulnerable to damage meaning that they will not take any damage from enemies. This will allow you to go through the battles and play the game with a focus on the story rather than the combat.
