Sea of Thieves: How to Start A Pirate’s Life Tall Tale

This week saw the release of the Sea of Thieves and Pirates of the Caribbean crossover content, “A Pirate’s Life.” Taking players to the Sea of the Damned where they’ll meet popular characters from Disney’s franchise. Before you can dive into the adventure though, you’ll first need to find and start “A Pirate’s Life” Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves.

How to Start A Pirate’s Life in Sea of Thieves

Once you’ve loaded up Sea of Thieves, you’ll find the ‘A Pirate’s Life’ option in the ‘Play’ menu. Selecting this will take you to one of the new Castaway NPCs that have been outposts across the map.

Select this, choose your ship and invite any friends you want to join you along the way and begin the adventure.

Once you’ve loaded in, head over to the Castaway NPC outside their hut by the sea and look at the different Tall Tales books up against the wall of the hut.

If this is your first time starting A Pirate’s Life, you’ll only have the one on the far left available to you. Select this to begin the Tall Tale, and kick off A Pirate’s Life with a little intro from the Castaway themselves.

After this, you should now see a green light emanating from a rock formation. Hop on your boat and sail over, and you’ll pass through into the Sea of the Damned.

After passing through the green portal, you’ll end up on your own private server, so no other players will be bothering you from here on out.

Now all you need to do is make your way straight ahead to the island in front of you and follow the glowing lanterns and torches to continue on your way.
