Streamed during the preshow for the E3 2021 Ubisoft Forward livestream, the trailer gives a brief overview of the story alongside some brief gameplay segments. It also reveals that Aiden, the protagonist from the first Watch Dogs, will play a key role in the DLC alongside Watch Dogs 2’s Wrench.

The trailer starts with Aiden receiving a mission. He’s told to go to a tech facility, sneak past an army of experimental robots, and steal some experimental tech. The gameplay segments show that this is more than doable, but things go awry when Aiden encounters Wrench; who, due to a misunderstanding, confronts Aiden and causes him to be captured.

Aiden is then interrogated by the owner of the tech company, who offers him a deal. If he tracks down Wrench for them, he’ll earn his freedom, with failure leading to dire consequences. Aiden agrees to the terms, but whether or not he’ll grow to see Wrench as more than a target is left up in the air.

It’s a fairly straight-forward trailer, but diehard fans of the series should get a kick out of the cameos and hints at intersections between games. The full trailer can be viewed down below.

Watch Dogs: Legion – Bloodline is currently slated for release on July 6 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
