Saving your game in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is paramount if you’re not planning on beating the entire thing in one sitting (not advised). Besides, saving regularly is a good habit to get into regardless of what game you’re playing, just in case of an unexpected system or game crash that causes you to lose hours of progress. In this guide, we’ll talk you through saving in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Saving Your Game in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart uses an auto-save feature to record your progress throughout the game. This usually kicks in immediately after cutscenes, whenever you hop through a dimensional rift, or reach other checkpoints throughout a level.
You’ll know when the game is saving as an icon will appear briefly in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
Here’s a complete list of how to trigger an auto-save in Rift Apart:
- Buying a new weapon
- Picking up a collectible (Gold Bolt, RYNO Infobot, Craiggerbear)
- Travel to a different planet
- Enter a new area/ travel through a rift
Can You Manual Save?
Unfortunately no. The game does not allow you to manually save your game at any point throughout its duration.
Are There Multiple Save Slots?
Yes. When players go to load their game, they’ll have the choice of loading the saved data from multiple slots, filled with auto-save data. This does not mean you can choose to auto-save in certain slots.
This does mean that you can quickly go back to an earlier save to grab a trophy, or just to repeat a particularly enjoyable section of the game. It’s a handy option to have, at the very least.
