Pokemon GO: How to Catch Ducklett

All the way from the land of Unova, Ducklett has arrived in Pokemon GO. This little Water/Flying-type doesn’t pack much of a punch but it’s an elusive Pokemon that you’ll still need to get to fill the Pokedex. Here’s everything you need to know about how to catch Ducklett in Pokemon GO.

How to Catch Ducklett in Pokemon GO

Ducklett was everywhere in the wild when it was first added to the game, but now it’s much harder to find. Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to catch once you find it. You may still want to use a Razz Berry to increase your catch chance. But first, let’s look at where Ducklett can be found.

Wild

Like other water-types, you’ll be more likely to find it around bodies of water like lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. It’s not a surefire method for finding Ducklett, but you’ll have the best chance of finding one there.

It’s also important to note that Ducklett is currently only obtainable in the wild in the Northern Hemisphere for the Season of Legends (Mar. 1 to June 1). We’re not sure when it’ll be in the wild in the Southern Hemisphere again, but we’ll update this guide as that information becomes available.

Field Research

If you spin a PokeStop and get Field Research that tasks you with earning five hearts with your Buddy Pokemon, do not delete the task. This is currently the easiest way you can obtain Ducklett.

Doing simple tasks with your Buddy like feeding it, taking a picture of it, and petting it will quickly earn you three hearts. Then you can simply switch to a different Buddy to pet it and take a snapshot. And in less than five minutes you’ll have five hearts earned with your buddy.

Then just tap on the completed Field Research task to start the Ducklett encounter.
