The Demon’s Souls remake on PlayStation 5 is a different beast from what many Souls fans are probably used to, with many mechanics working a bit differently than they do in other titles. Fast traveling is most certainly one of these mechanics, and to help save you some trial and error headaches, we’re here to walk you through how to fast travel in Demon’s Souls.
How to Fast Travel in Demon’s Souls
While it is possible to fast travel in Demon’s Souls, there are restrictions in place that can be tricky to figure out.
For example: You can’t fast travel from the Touchstones scattered throughout each level. These only have the ability to return you to the game’s hub area, the Nexus.
Instead, you’ll need to travel back to the Nexus and then interact with the Archstone tied to whichever area you’d like to travel to. You can then select which Touchstone in said area you’d like to travel to and immediately spawn in that area instead of having to play through the entire area again.
Admittedly, this can be a bit annoying when you’re trying to get to a specific area fast or just want to travel to an earlier part of an area more quickly. However, this system doesn’t require any resources to use, and the load times to get back to the Nexus and then to your area of choice are negligible.
That’s all there is to it really. It’s far from the most optimized system out there, but it isn’t too hard to utilize once you wrap your head around it.
