There are a number of challenges and trials across Teyvat that players can take multiple times to grind for more loot and experience. Not all of them are available straight away, though. Here’s how to get the Wolf of the North Challenge in Genshin Impact.
How to Get Wolf of the North Challenge in Genshin Impact
The Wolf of the North Challenge takes place in Wolvendom, just west of Mondstadt. It’s a weekly boss challenge that players can take repeatedly in exchange for various rewards, with the difficulty scaling to their level each time.
Before the quest becomes available, however, you’ll need to tick off a few things first. First, play through the story quest up until at least Act III of the Prologue, and make sure that you’re at least Adventure Level Rank 21 (which you should be anyway by that stage).
Now you’ll need to take on a story quest called Fate’s Chosen Lupical, which involves Razor, one of Genshin Impact’s 24 playable characters. The quest isn’t especially difficult, simply tasking you with piecing together some strange incidents involving wolfs around the Springvale area.
You’ll have to walk around investigating various clues left behind by the wolves, such as scratch marks and the like. You can find these easily by using your Hidden Sight (press L1, then left on the d-pad).
The quest ends up in Wolvendom where the Wolf of the North takes issue with Razor’s actions and briefly battles you and your party. He’s not all that hard, really — just use Razor since his attacks are pretty effective. After you’ve whittled his HP down to about a quarter the battle will end.
The Wolf of the North then explains that he’s happy to help you train your skills, which unlocks the trial. From now on you’ll have the ability to return here and take the trial whenever it’s available.
