Funnily, an “almost” has been added to that definition in the titles of the videos.

While it’s certainly not a game focusing on erotic themes, it’s not exactly for all age ranges. That being said, the actual age rating is very low. CERO (the Japanese counterpart of ESRB and PEGI) gave it a “B” rating, which is somewhat similar to a T rating in North America, but for anyone 12 or older instead of 13.

The two videos focus mostly on the memories of the hero Minato, including his sister. In the present day, she is stuck in a coma, and Minato joins her school in order to find out what happened to her.

To blend into the student body 99% of which is young girls, he decides to cross-dress and compete in cuteness against the divas of the school, aptly named the “princesses.”

You can check out the gameplay in the two videos below.

Bokuhime Project will be released in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on April 23, 2020. At the moment, NIS America (which is Nippon Ichi’s western subsidiary and brings most of the developer’s games west) has not announced a western release just yet.
