Persona 5 Royal is an enhanced, new and improved version of the original Persona 5 released a couple years back, and it introduces a few new mechanics to keep things feeling fresh. Here’s how to beat Disaster Shadows in Persona 5 Royal.
Disaster Shadows in Persona 5 Royal
As you probably already know, the main enemies in this game are referred to as Shadows. However, as early on as in the very first dungeon, you’ll be introduced to a new enemy type known as Disaster Shadows.
These are slightly stronger Shadows that will counter attack immediately after you hit it, regardless of the turn order. This means that if you’re just attacking without thinking, a Disaster Shadow could instantly kill one of your party members, especially if they hit a weakness.
However, as intimidating as they might seem, they’re actually pretty easy to deal with if you know what they’re doing.
All Disaster Shadows are basically souped up versions of Shadows you’re facing in a dungeon, which means they have the same strengths and weaknesses. For instance, a Disaster version of a Bicorn/Kelpie in Kamoshida’s Castle will still be weak to Zio, and you can land a critical hit on it by casting Zio.
This will knock down the Disaster Shadow, preventing it from counterattacking. If you can repeatedly hit its weakness, you should be able to knock it out before it can even deal any damage to your party.
In addition to that, there are also benefits to taking out Disaster Shadows first in Persona 5 Royal. Whenever they die, they’ll explode and the amount of damage dealt from the killing blow will spread to any surviving enemies in that fight.
They’ll also drop a random item upon death, which can be very useful. With all that in mind, it’s definitely recommended that you try to take them out first in a fight if you can hit their weaknesses.
To recap, here’s how to beat Disaster Shadows in Persona 5 Royal:
- Disaster Shadows have the same weaknesses as their regular counterparts, so hit them with the appropriate attacks to prevent them from counterattacking.
- Beating this enemy will cause it to explode and deal damage to surrounding enemies, and also reward you with an item.
That’s all you need to know about how to beat Disaster Shadows in Persona 5 Royal. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
