If you’re looking for some incredible artsy games for cheap on your Xbox One, there is a pretty big sale going on right now with up to 75% off of 75 different titles. The Artistic Adventure sale will end on Jan. 27, which happens to be this Sunday night so make sure to jump on some of these before it’s too late.
We’ve gone through the list for you– because we’re nice like that– and have highlighted five great games that you should consider picking up during the sale while it’s on.
Outer Wilds
Original Price: $24.99
Sale Price: $18.74
Outer Wilds is a first-person exploration game that throws you into the shoes of a new recruit that must go into a rickety space ship to explore the deep, dark recesses of space and uncover mysteries without much guidance.
You can pretty much fly anywhere that you would like to go to and Outer Wilds doesn’t hold your hand in the slightest bit, asking you to truly immerse yourself in the experience.
The big catch is that you actually die every 20 minutes or so and start over with the same knowledge that you had obtained, leading you to get further and further into the narrative without losing much progress.
It’s a relaxing and tranquil game that may be frustrating at the beginning because of the awkward ship controls but once you get sucked in, you’re going to have a fantastic time.
This is definitely a title that’s worth picking up during the Artistic Adventure sale.
Return of the Obra Dinn
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $14.99
The Obra Dinn is a very mysterious cargo ship that was thought to be lost at sea for years and years but once it strangely pulls up to port, it’s up to you to go onboard and investigate it and find out what really happened here.
It’s a riveting little exploration game that lets you use your investigation skill and a special “rewind” ability to go back in time to the moment of each crew member’s death to examine their last moments on the ship.
Since there were a ton of dead crew members, it’s gonna take some brains to figure out just what the hell happened here.
Return of the Obra Dinn is a must-play for those seeking a challenging, single-player puzzler.
Inside
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $6.59
Inside comes from the same studio who developed Limbo and you can almost immediately tell once you jump into Inside. It has a bleak atmosphere, darker color tones, and its dim lighting is unsettling and eerie, While you work your way through the platforming sections, you’ll uncover a mind-blowing secret that will make your jaw drop.
Inside is one of those games that can only come around once or so every generation and it simply excels in storytelling and design. At that low price during this Artistic Adventure sale, I cannot recommend this indie game enough.
Creature in the Well
Original Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $11.24
Creature in the Well is a mix of pinball, hack and slash, and top-down dungeon-crawling and all of these genres somehow manages to work in the grand scheme of things.
Here’s what our editor, Tom Hopkins, had to say about this gorgeous title:
“It’s tough at times, there no denying that, but figuring out how to use each sector’s layout to your advantage will soon make you appreciate the subtly implemented progression system and impeccably designed rooms, adding to the pinball hack and slash gameplay that feels fantastic in all its forms from the moment you step foot in the mountain.”
It’s a super-satisfying action game that presents some challenging sections, but once you get past the hurdles, it’s extremely rewarding.
What Remains of Edith Finch
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $9.99
What Remains of Edith Finch is a fascinating first-person adventure game that takes you on a story to find out why and how Edith’s family has passed away. You’ll be taken from character to character as you experience the last day of all of their lives, whether it be from the past or present day.
What Remains of Edith Finch remains as one of the most emotionally touching and heart-wrenching video games out there that will surely tug on your heartstrings.
For that low price, you really can’t go wrong with purchasing this during the Artistic Adventure, as it’s as artsy as you can get.
