Automatic replacement allow you to ignore when a vehicle is reaching the end of its working life. It comes at a price, but it makes like a lot easier when it comes to keeping you fleet in order.

Can You Set Automatic Replacement in Transport Fever 2?

You may be disappointed to hear that Automatic Replacement is no longer a feature in the series. You can still replace vehicles manually and there are other maintenance options to use instead.

To replace vehicles if their condition is worsening to the point that they’re at the end of their working life, what you need to do first is select the Vehicle Management button at the bottom of the screen.

Then, select the line and the vehicles you want to replace by clicking on the circle to the left of its name. Then, click on the recycle-like symbol that is for replacing vehicles. Before you confirm it, it’ll tell you how much it costs. If you want to use the funds, you can, and you’ll be given new vehicles in return.

Other Vehicle Replacements Options

In Transport Fever 2, you can now essentially keep your vehicles going forever, as long as you invest in their upkeep, allowing you to forget about automatic replacement.

Each vehicle has a different price and how much they cost to run per year, which you can check by clicking on the Vehicle Statistics in the bottom right of the screen. You can then click on the vehicle in question so that you can see its running cost and manage it.

Click on Manage Vehicle and you’ll be able to change its maintenance level. It’s on Normal by default, which will see its emissions increase as it gets older, but set that to High or Very High and you’ll get more from a vehicle’s years.

It’ll increase the running cost, so you need to work out if the extra outlay is worth the decrease in emissions, which lead to a better town if lower. The difference isn’t significant though, so you might find that leaving everything on normal will be the most efficient.

It does mean that you won’t have to replace vehicles very often, if at all, as you progress through the years in Transport Fever 2. It’s a good alternative to Automatic Replacement.

That’s everything you need to know about if you can set automatic replacement of your vehicles in Transport Fever 2. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite. We also have some coverage on similar games.
