With Fortnite Winterfest in full swing, players can get themselves a bunch of free, festive cosmetics to celebrate the holiday season. While most of these are simply obtained by opening the various presents in the Winterfest Lodge, Fortnite’s Christmas Tree skin known as Lt. Evergreen is obtained in a slightly different way. Here’s how to get the Christmas Tree skin in Fortnite.
Getting the Christmas Tree Skin in Fortnite
To get the Christmas Tree skin in Fortnite, first select the Snowflake icon at the top of the screen from the menu bar. This will give you the option to head to the Winterfest Lodge.
Once here, you’ll see Crackshot sitting in a chair in the right-hand corner. Just behind him is a Christmas Tree. When Fortnite Winterfest first started, this wasn’t something you could interact with. It was simply there for decoration. This has now changed.
By moving your left analog stick around the Winterfest Lodge and highlighting the Christmas Tree, you’ll be given the option to interact with it with the text ‘Just a Tree.’ Ignore this, and click on it to inspect further.
Press and hold on the option to ‘Open’ the Christmas tree, and once the wheel has filled around the on-screen button prompt, you’ll be given Fortnite’s Christmas Tree skin known as Lt. Evergreen.
Alongside Lt. Evergreen, players also get the Re-Gifter Back Bling which is basically a present. You’ll also get the Lt. Evergreen exclusive emote called ‘Light Up.’ Three guesses what that results in your character doing!
