Publisher Bethesda has added a new studio to its portfolio, today announcing the acquisition of Alpha Dog, a Nova Scotia-based developer founded in 2012 by industry veterans Shawn Woods and Jeff Cameron. The studio is best known for mobile games like Monstrocity Rampage, which launched back in 2016 and has performed well on iOS and Android.
“We are impressed by the team at Alpha Dog’s commitment to quality and depth of experience in mobile,” said Todd Vaughn, Senior Vice President of Development at Bethesda. “We’re excited to have them join the Bethesda family.”
Alpha Dog will support Bethesda’s growing mobile game initiative, developing new titles for iOS and Android devices. No specific games or projects have yet been announced.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades is Bethesda’s most recognized mobile game, though it’s not been received all that well by long-time fans of the franchise. Still, the publisher has continued to support it with new content and revisions of its mechanics, and that’s expected to continue moving forward.
