Typically, The Legend of Zelda games are single-player experiences with the exception of the Four Swords games and Tri Force Heroes. But, since Link’s Awakening is a remake, you might be wondering if there is co-op multiplayer in the game. Here’s what you need to know about that.
Is There Co-Op Multiplayer in Link’s Awakening?
To get straight to the point, there is no traditional multiplayer functionality at all in Link’s Awakening. Throughout the entire game, you will only be controlling Link and that’s all.
There are no online components to the game, there is no local play, and the game has no other game modes besides the main adventure.
With that being said, there is one new feature in the game that you can unlock by going to Dampe’s Shack and that is the Chamber Dungeons.
These allow you to rearrange dungeons to your liking and is somewhat of a dungeon maker, but with much fewer tools compared to something like Super Mario Maker.
You can tap an amiibo to save your dungeons and bring them over to a different Switch and vice versa. It’s still not a co-op multiplayer mode that you might have wanted, but the feature is there if you wanted to use it.
And that’s all you need to know about whether there is co-op multiplayer in Link’s Awakening. For more on the Switch title, be sure to check out our ever-expanding Wiki Guide for the game and our scored review.
