One of the few items outside of weapons rewarded to players for completing a myriad of tasks, Null Stones are framed as highly indispensable and a necessity to your success.

However, why they’re important isn’t explained very clearly, and can leave you wondering how you’re supposed to use all of these stones you’re gathering.

Thankfully, we’ve done the leg work and deciphered what they’re used for.

How to Get Null Stones and What They Do in Oninaki

Like the stones you can use to level up your Daemons, Null Stones can be used to unlock the nodes of a Daemon’s skill tree. However, unlike the specific stones assigned to each Daemon, Null Stones can be used freely to unlock new skills for any Daemon.

This means they can be used to make up for being one or two stones short for a skill; or, if you have enough, to purchase a new skill only using them.

Where You Can Get Null Stones

With this is mind, you’re probably wondering where you need to look to get some of these Stones. Fortunately, there are two easy methods you can use.

One is to speak with the Lost Soul NPCs and complete their side quests. Every one of these quests will reward you with a Stone upon completion, and can typically be completed in a few minutes if you know where they want you to go or what item they want to see.

The other is to switch over to the veil in most any area and look for treasure chests. These chests have a chance of containing either a Shadestone or a Null Stone, and with the number of chests in any given area, you’re sure to get at least one stone for your trouble.

Hopefully, that cleared up how to get Null Stones and what they do. For more on Oninaki, check out the recent announcement that a new Daemon will be added to the game shortly after launch.

Also, here are some other relevant guides that should be helpful:

If you didn’t feel like reading everything above, here’s a quick summation:

  1. Talk to the Lost Soul NPCs and complete the side quests.

These will reward you with stones every time.

  2. Look for treasure chests.
