If you are like skateboarding fans and have been feverishly waiting for Skate 4, Easy Day Studios’ Skater XL announcement today could scratch that itch.

Previously a Steam Early Access title, Skater XL’s development team created Skater, a mobile skateboarding title.

Here’s a rundown from Easy Day Studios on the development so far:

The team has worked closely with the skateboarding community to capture the feel and experience of skateboarding to make it accessible for anyone with a passion for skateboarding culture and/or game genre.

According to the developer, they’ve created a custom animation system that composes real-time animations on the fly (versus canned animations), which are under the user’s control moment-to-moment, ensuring that no two tricks or sequences look alike.

The trailer for Skater XL focuses on physics-based control and responsiveness.

With the emphasis on style, expect to tailor your toolbox of tricks based on not only how you skate, but where you skate as well.

Easy Day Studios plans on having real world skate spots to experience. Expect parks, benches, half-pipes and a bevy of other locales to tear up in 2020.

If that’s too long of a wait, the game’s Early Access on Steam is still ongoing, with a scheduled release confirmed to Xbox One next year as well.
