How to Unlock Adjutants

Adjutants are unlocked once you reach professor level C. If you’re having trouble increasing your professor level in the game, we have a guide to help you out with that.

But once you reach that C rank, you’ll get to assign an Adjutant to any unit in combat. This is essentially a pairing system where the Adjutant serves as a backup unit that can gain a portion of experience without being in any immediate danger.

Adjutants are nice to have, as you can increase support points between characters easily, and also level them up in the background if they’re not quite ready for the frontlines just yet. As your professor level increases, you’ll unlock more Adjutant slots, up to a total of three.

How to Set Adjutants in Fire Emblem Three Houses

Just before a battle, select the Units option from the prep menu and hover your cursor over one of your main units. Then, press the Y button to set an Adjutant, and you’ll see a list of units available for pairing.

Select the unit you want to pair, and you’re good to go.

Depending on the support rank between your paired units, the assigned unit might be able to perform a follow-up attack in battle, but don’t expect too much from them.

That’s all you need to know about how to unlock and set Adjutants in Fire Emblem Three Houses. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Fire Emblem Three Houses guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
