How to Export in Tropico 6

Tropico 6 is all about building up your island to turn it into a paradise with a thriving economy and happy locals. To do this, you’re going to need to know a little bit about exporting. Here’s how to export in Tropico 6.

There are actually two different ways exporting works in the game. We’ve broken down both of these below in order to clear up any confusion you might have.

Auto-Exporting

Exporting can be done automatically for the most part, as long as you’ve invested in some Teamsters. This means you’re going to want to have Teamster Offices and Teamster Ports set up on your island so they can get to work. The more Teamsters you have, the better, as they will take the supplies and move them around your island.

For example, Teamsters are responsible for taking apples from the farm to the cannery factory so they can be canned. They’ll also take the cans to the port so they can be exported out to other countries as and when they want them.

In essence, you focus on generating the crops and goods, and the Teamsters will take care of the rest when it comes to exporting in Tropico 6.

How to Export to a Specific Country in Tropico 6

If you’re looking to export goods to another specific country in Tropico 6, you will need to lay a bit of groundwork before your Teamsters can crack on. This will likely be something you’ll have to deal with if, for example, the USA is asking for cotton.

In this example, you’re going to want to open the Trade menu, and ensure you’ve got an Export Trade Route with the USA for cotton already set up. If not, do this, and then you’re pretty much all set. Your Teamsters will take care of the rest automatically, just as they did in the auto-exporting section above. You just need to make sure you’re supplying what is being exported.
