Starlink: Battle for Atlas to Bring More Star Fox Goodness

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Starlink: Battle for Atlas was the Star Fox game many Nintendo fans have wanted for a long time, and it’s about to dive deeper into the Star Fox universe than ever before.

Even though Fox McCloud and Wolf O’Donnell graced the Nintendo Switch version of Starlink last year, the game didn’t feature the rest of the Star Fox team very prominently, and the other Star Wolf members were absent. However, Starlink’s upcoming spring update will fix that and bring these characters to the forefront.

In the update, players will hunt down and face Pigma Dengar, Andrew Oikonny, and (the great) Leon Powalski in a series of new and challenging missions. However, Panther Caroso is nowhere to be found.

On the hero side of the spectrum, players will be able to control Peppy Hare, Slippy Toad, and Falco Lombardi. Each will come with his own special ability and skill tree, so gamers won’t feel as though they’re controlling clones of Fox.

Every member of the Star Fox team can hunt down the various rogue pilots of Star Wolf, and more importantly, Peppy, Slippy, and Falco won’t be exclusive to the update’s new missions. Players who want to experience the main Starlink story through the eyes of these pilots can do so.

Starlink’s spring update doesn’t focus exclusively on Star Wolf, however. The update will also include new features such as ship races and faction missions, but the Nintendo Direct didn’t go into any further detail.

The Starlink: Battle for Atlas spring update is scheduled to release sometime in April, and since it features members of Star Wolf, it is obviously exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.
