How to Turn on Passive Mode in Red Dead Online

Red Dead Online adds a meaty multiplayer mode to the already substantial, and brilliant, single-player content. Despite the surprising amount of story content, it’s a different experience. Here’s how to turn on passive mode in Red Dead Online.

You might have thought Red Dead Redemption 2’s lawmakers were unforgiving in the campaign but that’s nothing compared to griefers in the multiplayer portion of the game.

You’ll quickly learn that other players are likely to shoot first and ask questions later.

For that reason, you should be sure to always switch on pacifist mode when you’re milling about at camp with your guard down.

Essentially, the mode makes you invulnerable to attack. And yes, unfortunately, it only applies to the immediate area surrounding your camp. There’s no way as of now to apply this to anywhere you go around the world of Red Dead Online.

You can turn on passive mode in your camp by holding L2 while looking at the raised white flag at your camp and pressing Circle or B to raise it if it’s lowered.

Alternatively, just press left on the d-pad, go to Camp and make sure the White Flag section says Raised. Again, this only applies to just your camp’s immediate area.

You’ll just have to pray you don’t run into anybody intent on taking you out once you leave!

That’s all you need to know about how to turn on passive mode in Red Dead Online. For more useful information and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
