How to Get Moltres in Pokemon Let’s Go

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee bring fans back to the iconic Kanto region. Most things have been left untouched, which means that you can expect the return of the legendary bird Pokemon as well. These are Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Moltres in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.

While it is possible to get to Zapdos and Articuno once you obtain the relevant Special Techniques, Moltres is slightly trickier. You won’t be able to get to it until you have all eight Gym badges and have access to Victory Road, which leads to Indigo Plateau. This means that you need to progress through the story before this Pokemon becomes available.

Once you get all Gym badges, head back to Viridian City and take the western path that leads you to Victory Road. Moltres is pretty hard to miss, and it can be found right at the very end of Victory Road, just before you exit and reach the Pokemon League.

At the end of the cave, you’ll find Officer Jenny. To the left of her, you’ll see a ladder heading downwards. Take that ladder, head to the eastern corner, and you’ll find the legendary Fire-type bird Pokemon waiting for you there. Do note that you’ll need to use the Strong Push Secret Technique to move the boulder that’s blocking your way to the ladder.

Just like the other legendary creatures, Moltres’ stats will increase when you encounter it, and it’s a level 50 enemy. Don’t underestimate it even if your levels are higher, as this Pokemon will hit harder than you expect.

If you’ve got a good Water-type Pokemon, you shouldn’t have too much problem with this fight. Do note that there’s a five-minute time limit on this encounter as well, so make sure to use your best moves to end the fight quickly. Once you’ve defeated it, you can then attempt to capture it. We recommend using Silver Razz Berries and Ultra Balls to catch it.

Remember to save your game before the encounter as well, just in case something goes wrong while you’re trying to catch Moltres.

That’s all you need to know about how to catch Moltres in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. Be sure to check our Pokemon Let’s Go guide wiki for more tips and information on the game as well.
