How to Save in Hitman 2

Here’s everything you need to know about how to save in Hitman 2.

Hitman 2 is all about experimenting with all the options available to you as you explore each of the game’s locations. Whether it be exploring areas crawling with henchmen to find out some information, or taking a risk to pull of an over-the-top kill, there are plenty of dangers to keep in mind.

Following the story missions that guide you through a particular way of taking out a target in a silly way, you’re going to come face to face with a load of enforcers that will get suspicious the moment they see you. That’ll inevitably lead to Agent 47 being caught and maybe even killed himself. If that’s the case, you’ll want the game to save as often as possible so that you don’t lose the opportunities you started or the disguises you’ve stolen.

Thankfully, Hitman 2 saves pretty regularly. What prompts it to save isn’t particularly clear, but completing tasks while following story missions or assassinating one of the targets will often do so. You’ll see your progress save in Hitman 2 quite clearly as a big white box/barcode appears in the bottom right of the screen, alongside the word ‘Saving’.

The great thing about saving in Hitman 2 is that each autosave is kept separate so that you can go back to various points in the level. When you die, or even whenever you feel like it, you can choose to load a previous save. To do so without being killed, simply press the Options/Menu button, depending on whether you’re playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and choose the load option.

The files give you an image of where you were when you saved, as well as the time of the save, so that you know how far back the save is.

You can also save in Hitman 2 manually. To do so, press the Options or Menu button once more and choose the Save option. This will then add a save file at this point to the front of the queue on the Load menu, should you want to go back to it.
