The first-person “walking simulator” Gone Home will be coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop next week, developer Fullbright and publisher Annapurna announced. This month marks the fifth anniversary of the exploration and narrative-focused title and the team decided to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch because of the console’s “diverse player-base,” says Steve Gaynor, co-founder of the Fullbright Company.

In Gone Home, you play as a young woman named Katie, who has just returned to her family home after being gone for a period of time. She soon realizes that the house is empty and by investigating the huge house, she must piece together clues to find out what exactly happened to her family. This leads to revelations and discoveries that she wishes she didn’t uncover. The title was received quite well with outlets praising the narrative and the inclusion of LGBT-related topics.
Gone Home will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $19.99 on Aug 23. iam8bit, an online shop that focuses on limited edition video game collectibles, is currently working on releasing a physical version of Gone Home for Switch and a vinyl of the game’s soundtrack.
