Sign-Ups Currently Open For PlayStation 4 System Update 6.00 Beta

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

If you’re always one to stay up on current trends and updates when it comes to PlayStation 4, you can go ahead and sign up for the open beta testing period for software update 6.00 now. Sony typically allows for a decent time period for testing before officially releasing a new console update, and it looks like you’ll have a limited time to sign up to be included if you want to give the new update a spin.

The latest updates like 5.53 previous added a set of improvements, but there’s not a lot of information on what exactly the newest version will bring with it. What’s immediately clear is, however, you can sign up for the beta at any time from now until July 27. You must be 18 years or above to take part, and you must also have PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now subscriptions to be considered.

Update 5.0 added 1080p and 60 FPS streaming via PlayStation 4 Pro, as well as a cavalcade of new Friends List features, in addition to Notification changes. If you want to be a part of the fun and see what new features are planned with the update, go ahead and sign up now. There’s no guarantee that you’ll be chosen, of course, but you should still give it a whirl anyway.
