NBA 2K19 Teases Special Announcement Next Week

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

NBA 2K19 is scheduled to launch in just three months from now, but details are still sparse about the upcoming annual basketball title. At present, only announced details so far include inclusions of the Lebron James-starred 20th Anniversary Edition, the standard fare pre-order bonuses, and an August 31-scheduled The Prelude demo for PS4 and Xbox One. Things might change come next week as the team behind NBA 2K19 has teased a special announcement.

The official NBA 2K19 Twitter account has recently teased a special announcement on July 2 at 12PM EDT/ 9 AM PDT. No details were disclosed regarding what the special announcement could entail. However, many believe the standard edition cover athlete is the big special announcement considering an NBA 2K19 cover art fronting Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was accidentally revealed last week on NBA 2K18’s main menu.

Developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports, NBA 2K19 is scheduled to launch for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 11. Similar to previous games in the series, pre-ordering this year’s basketball entry will allow you to play it four days earlier regardless of chosen edition purchased. Standard edition pre-orders also come with 5,000 Virtual Currency, 10 MyTEAM League packs, and one cover athlete Sapphire MyTEAM card.
