The new entry in the long-running God of War saga is touching down on PlayStation 4 soon, and there’s a lot that’s changed since we last met up with Kratos. While the game isn’t technically a reboot, it’s chock-full of a lot of different content that’s in stark contrast to the previous titles. We’ve been seeing several different trailer reveals of what to expect from the new vision of God of War and Kratos as well as how players can shape his growth over the course of the game.

The latest video features lead gameplay designer Jason McDonald as he discusses how Kratos’s customization has been tweaked so as to allow players to play him to their liking in terms of skill trees, armor, and more. Some upgrades can add defensive buffs and attack upgrades, while his Leviathan axe can utilize its own set of skills and it can be tweaked to player liking as well.

God of War is coming to PlayStation 4 on April 20, so you won’t have much longer to wait to see how your ideal Kratos plays. There’s a lot to take in if you haven’t played a God of War title in some time, so you should be pleasantly surprised as the game is taking shape as a standout PlayStation 4 exclusive thus far.
