The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is coming to PC via SteamVR this April, after its stint on PlayStation VR, originally dropping November 2017. Bethesda’s announcement comes today, by with the news that it’ll be compatible with all the VR platforms you can think of, including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. If there were ever a game that’s been launched on every platform, Skyrim is certainly approaching that honor.
As you can imagine, Skyrim VR brings you through the world of the Elder Scrolls game with VR controls as you face off against dragons and a smattering of other strange enemies and navigate the landscape in a first-person mode. It’s a lot easier to put yourself in the action when you feel like you’re actually in it, and that’s exactly what Skyrim VR does.
You’ll get to explore the expansions Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn with this release as well, so if you haven’t yet explored the world of Skyrim, you’re about to be able to go adventuring deeper than before. If VR isn’t so much your thing, however, you can play Skyrim just about everywhere, including the Nintendo Switch. There’s a lot of ground to cover no matter which version you play, so it’s really best to just jump in. Check out the new trailer below.
