The Evil Within 2 Now Has a First-Person Mode

This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

The Evil Within 2 players are getting another reason to return to the game with a brand-new first-person mode, as if it weren’t scary enough. Now you can see everything disgusting in the game right up close, like you were staring at it in real life. Starting today, you can now play through the entirety of the game in first-person mode, so you can get up close and personal with all the weirdos in the game. That just means you can kill them quicker, right?

You can access the new first-person mode at any time by accessing the game menu, and it can be changed on the fly as such. If you decide it’s not for you after giving it a trial run, you can simply turn it back off again. Very simple, and very quick. If you’ve never played the game before, it’ll be just like playing a new one, which is pretty cool. It should make things feel a lot closer together, which may lend a nice, claustrophobic feel to scenes that otherwise felt open and “safe,” if you can even say that about parts of The Evil Within 2.

If you’ve never tried The Evil Within 2, you can do so right now thanks to the very useful free trial available across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s a game rife with plenty of terrifying moments, so make sure you go into it with an open mind and get ready to be scared out of your wits.
