Xbox Party Chat Is Coming to Your Phone Soon

Achievement Unlocked: Mobile Xbox chatting.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

What’s the worst part of having to leave your house, and in turn, your Xbox? Not being able to chat with your friends on the go, of course. That’s why Microsoft is bringing a new feature, currently in beta, to your smartphone. It would let you hang out with your friends online even while on the go.

You can download the Xbox beta app right now, and it will allow you to do just that. You can use the Xbox App to stay in a party chat while away from your Xbox One, and in turn play and chat with your friends in games that support cross-system play and chat. You can pick up the app via iPhone and Android right now, though this isn’t considered an “official” announcement just yet as Microsoft hasn’t made any kind of statement about it.

There isn’t that much information about the full list of features that come with the app, but rest assured there will probably be some additional functionality when Microsoft finally decides to make the big announcement soon.
