Indie hit Night In The Woods will be getting a major expansion before the end of the year, including a port to Xbox One.
Night In The Woods: Weird Autumn Edition will provide a director’s cut of the game to new and existing owners, according to developers Infinite Fall. Content that was originally cut from the first release earlier in the year has been added back in, along with new content to expand the lore.
Originally available on PC and PS4 this past February, following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2013, Night In The Woods tells the story of a young cat named Mae and her many adventures as she returns to her hometown.
Night In The Woods: Weird Autumn Edition will debut on Xbox One on Dec. 13 as a full release, whilst those who own the original release on PC, Mac and Linux platforms will be able to download the update for free on the same day. PS4 owners will have to wait until January 2018 before the update appears on their system.
Infinite Fall has also teased a potential release on Nintendo Switch, though didn’t call it out by name. The studio tweeted that it’s working on an announcement for another console, but couldn’t confirm which console that was. They followed up by suggesting we the fans know exactly what that platform might be. Most recently, the game was confirmed to appear on mobile in 2018.
