Warner Bros. has confirmed a PC port of Injustice 2 is indeed in the works, with an open beta expected to begin on Oct. 25.
NetherRealm’s DC universe fighter will be brought across to both the Windows Store and Steam thanks to Polish studio QLOC, who previously handled the PC edition of Mortal Kombat XL. Unfortunately there’s no specific release date outside of some time before the end of the year, or confirmation on whether the recently announced fighters including Hellboy will be available at launch, but we should know more once the beta period concludes.
Mortal Kombat creator and Injustice 2 creative director Ed Boon has been teasing a potential PC edition of Injustice 2 for a few months now, having only just done so again over the weekend. Boon has also commented on a possible port to the Nintendo Switch, though it might be a while before we hear anything about that.
Injustice 2 was received rather well at launch on Xbox One and PS4 earlier this year and has had regular DLC updates with new fighters based on DC properties and unique cameos. Along with Hellboy, who is expected to be available next month, The Atom has also been recently announced as joining the cast whilst Mortal Kombat’s Raiden was the most recent addition.
If you want to get involved with the PC open beta, Warner Bros. suggests keeping a close eye on Steam. There’s no Injustice 2 page there as of this post, but it should appear sooner rather than later with the information you need.
