The closed beta begins Thursday, June 8 until Monday, June 12. DotEmu says the beta will be used to test the online matchmaking and will include a ranking system. Check out the announcement of the closed beta and some gameplay in the video below.

Windjammers was announced at last year’s PlayStation Experience conference. The 1994 game involves two players facing off against each other and throw a Frisbee into the opponent’s goal to score the most points. The flying disc sport had six characters with different abilities and six courts with special scoring rules for each.

Players interested in joining the closed beta can register at the official Windjammers website, and registration is open until June 5. The remastered classic arcade game is currently in development for PS4 and PlayStation Vita, but the beta will only be available for the PS4 version.
