Sony’s streaming service, PlayStation Now, allows you to play hundreds of PlayStation 3 games on multiple platforms via a subscription service. Sony has announced via a blog post that the service will be discontinued on all devices besides the PS4 and Windows PC. If you’re subscribed to the service and you’re not using it on PS4, make sure to play all of the PS3 games that you can right now because the service will stop on Aug 15, 2017.

The service will be discontinued on all of these devices:

  • PlayStation 3
  • PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV
  • All 2013, 2014, 2015 Sony Bravia TV models
  • All Sony Blu-ray player models
  • All Samsung TV models

Additionally, 2016 models of Sony Bravia TVs will be discontinued on April 1, 2017.

This change is necessary for Sony to develop and improve the “user experience” of the streaming service on PS4 and Windows PC. Sony thanks fans for subscribing to the service, “this move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further. If you use any of the above devices, we want to give our heartfelt thanks for your support, and we hope you’ll continue with us. Remember that all of your PS Now cloud game saves can easily be accessed on both PS4 and Windows PC.”
