Activision has trademarked ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’, giving further credence to rumors claiming this to be the title for the next entry in the franchise.
The trademark filings, which you can see below, are labelled as “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” and “Infinite Warfare.” Both trademarks were filed earlier this week with the US Trademark Office, on April 26.
Earlier this week, several rumors gave credence to ‘Infinite Warfare’ being the title of the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise. The game was firstly accidentally listed on the PlayStation Store, before a Reddit user spotted an advert for the game at a Target store.
On top of this, the retail listing spotted at Target also indicated that there would be a ‘Legacy Edition’ of the game, and that a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would come bundled with the special edition.
This year’s Call of Duty was also possibly teased in Black Ops 3’s Nuk3town multiplayer map, with spaceships and a new logo supposedly teasing the game.
Do these trademark filings all but confirm the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise?
