Persona 5 Website Starts a Countdown Clock

But what does it count down to?

The official Persona 5 website has been updated to feature a countdown clock, with the caption “Take Your Heart.”

At the time of writing, neither developer Atlus or parent company SEGA have commented on what the clock is counting down to, although many expect it to be a release date for the eagerly anticipated Persona 5, which was previously slated to launch last year.

Since the initial delay out of the end of 2015, Atlus gave a vague Summer 2016 release date for the JRPG, but have not further expanded upon this statement since.

However Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino gave a hint into the themes that the game would follow, stating “This time, it’s about a group of high school students that are being ‘chased’ by unexpected occurrences due to the justice they believe in. We’re writing (the story) to convey a thrilling everyday life in the shoes of these characters.”

Persona 5 is currently slated to launch for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, and as of right now, Atlus has not revoked the tentative Summer 2016 release.
