A job listing on the Capcom Unity page has pointed out that the next Dead Rising will be built on the Unreal Engine 4. The post mentions that Capcom are working with Epic Games to utilize the engine for upcoming projects, and they are now hiring people to make this happen.
The post highlights that Capcom Games Studio Vancouver, the studio behind the Dead Rising series, are adding a “whole bunch” of development positions to grow their team. They are looking for talented professionals who are familiar with the Unreal Engine 4.
“We have some ambitious visions for where we want to take our next games and while our previous proprietary engine served the needs for the projects at the time, shifting to Unreal Engine 4 delivers the right tools for our future direction. Not only will we be developing on a powerful and versatile platform, we’ll also work closely with the team at Epic to maximize the capabilities of the latest and greatest technology. Using this industry leading engine also allows us to quickly integrate new talent onto our projects so that we can focus on pioneering new world class entertainment.”
Capcom Games Studio Vancouver are responsible for the 2013 Xbox One and PC title, Dead Rising 3, as well as the other Dead Rising entries in the series. If anything, this is clear sign that the next Dead Rising will indeed be built using the Unreal Engine 4. Capcom recently released Street Fighter V, which was also built using the Unreal Engine 4.
