Earlier today, the PlayStation Network ended up going offline just out of the blue. We were told that a solution possibly wouldn’t come for another couple of days. Someone apparently didn’t get the memo, because the PSN is back and seemingly fully functional. Sony’s Computer Entertainment Head Shuhei Yoshida even tweeted a confirmation that things were back to normal.
As people are tweeting, PSN is back online. Very sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. https://t.co/y3aO5iiWfn

As far as what could’ve caused the PSN to go down, a definitive answer hasn’t been said for certain. Sony will probably give a more detailed answer in the coming days, and when they do, we’ll let you know. For now, go ahead and hop back on your PlayStation and get back to gaming!
