A Closer Look at the Bloody Action in the Attack on Titan Game

Please, let us play as a potato.

New footage of the upcoming Attack on Titan game, also widely known as Shingeki no Kyojin, was released recently by Koei Tecmo, showing more of how the game is set to appear as far as it’s HUD and the general action will play out. In its attempt to mimic the high-octane intensity of the animated series, the Attack of Titan game amps up the style, as evidenced by the new video.

The videos specifically show characters Eren, Armin, and Levi in action, although there’s still no word on the exact total number of playable characters. If each character does have their own distinct stats to influence varying tactics, it’s not very visible. The difference between characters could just be cosmetic. Nevertheless, it’s really awesome to watch.

There’s a great sort of detail brought onto the video game adaptation of the show, as it seeks to offer something both faithful and immersive. While slashing at titans, a sure amputation might release splatters of blood onto the screen, and characters may be speaking to each other, relaying information necessary to the mission.

Through all its animations and visual effects, the developers over at Omega Force have done an excellent job at capturing the feel of Attack on Titan. Now the only big hope left is that this will be the definitive Attack on Titan experience so many fans have been wanting. After the 3DS title Humanity in Chains left many disappointed, this upcoming game seems to be taking advantage of no longer being under those hardware limitations, pushing for the bloodiest and most action-packed title the Attack on Titan series needs.

Attack on Titan is set to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan in February 2016 and is set to be released to North America and Europe in 2016 at a currently undetermined date.
