Harvestella Character Customization Explained

Harvestella does indeed have character customization. However, it is not too extensive. We will go through each portion of the character creation in the game below. You are going to be able to choose the basics, at least! If you are wondering how you can change outfits afterward, check our guide here.

Gender Options

The first choice you can make in Harvestella is the gender of your character. Thankfully, the game is inclusive enough to offer players more choices than just the binary. You can be masculinine, feminine, or non-binary! This will change how your character is referred to throughout your gameplay (i.e. pronouns).

Body Type

Upon selecting your gender, you will be prompted to select a body type. This pertains to how your character’s body is shaped as well as what the color of their skin will be.

Hair Color

When you have picked which body type and skin color appeals to you the most for your character, you will be able to change your hair color. Sadly, you are stuck with the hairstyle that comes with whichever gender you picked.

Eye Color

Your character now has the hair color that you want! Next, you can choose their eye color. There are even some cool colors to pick from, like lilac or pink. Sadly, there is no color wheel to choose from for any of the character customization.

Voice

The following portion of character creation is not exactly… diverse. However, you are given a choice between one of two voices. One sounds more masculine while the second one is more feminine.

Name

The final thing that you can choose for your character in Harvestella is their name. You can either stick with the default presented to you, or you can input your own choice of name.

Those are all of the options that players are presented with to customize their characters at the beginning of Harvestella.

Unfortunately, there is not too much character customization in Harvestella, but there definitely are at least a few options to choose from. We are happy to see an inclusive game offering gender outside of the male-female binary, but we do wish there was more to do with color-picking or some sliders to make the character truly come to life. If the game looks interesting to you despite the lack of extensive customization, be sure to pick it up! It also works pretty great on the Steam Deck with full controller support, too.
