Modern Warfare 2 is finally here but when can we expect the Season One Battle Pass?

After three years of anticipation, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is finally out on Consoles and PC. Here’s everything we know about when Modern Warfare 2’s Battle Pass is out.

When Is MW2’s Battle Pass Releasing?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2‘s Battle Pass will release on Nov.16 and will coincide with the release of Season One. While the Battle Pass feature is viewable in the menu, it’s currently greyed out as it hasn’t launched yet.

The Battle Pass usually launches after the initial release of a COD title so that players can give the game’s multiplayer modes a fair shot and play the campaign to completion. If you’re hoping to dive straight into Battle Pass then you may be disappointed, but Modern Warfare 2 does feature a pre-season Battle Pass which contains two free weapons to unlock.

One other crucial reason for delaying the battle pass is it allows players to become familiar with operator types and weapons to prepare them for what is arguably COD’s biggest draw for gamers these days and included in the upcoming Battle Pass.

What’s included in Modern Warfare 2’s Battle Pass?

Modern Warfare 2’s Battle Pass will see the debut of Warzone 2.0 which will once again be free to play bringing with it a new map, Gulag, and DMZ.

Warzone 2.0 will introduce the expansive Al Mazrah map along with aquatic combat and feature over a dozen new vehicles that players can use to traverse the map. The Gulag has also been reworked to feature 2v2 battles which will see you forced to team up with your opponents to take out enemy teams.

The most prominent new feature coming with Warzone 2.0 is the extraction mode which will allow players to shape their Warzone experience and have the option to keep gear they find on the map. Details are scarce on Extraction Mode at the moment but Infinity Ward has promised to reveal new information alongside the launch of Warzone 2.0.

On top of that, the Battle Pass will feature new content for special ops, weapon blueprints, and a series of raids which is set to launch on Dec. 14 and will continue the game’s campaign.
