When you are first thrown into the scenic world that Scorn has to offer, you find yourself just as confused about what to do next as you do about who you are in the game. The beginning can feel overwhelming to those who are used to tutorials and at least a little bit of guidance. As this is a game with literally no hand-holding to be found whatsoever, we have decided to write up a quick guide on what you should do at the beginning of your gruesome adventure in Scorn. Read on to find out how to complete the beginning of Scorn.
Scorn Beginning Tutorial Guide
As soon as you are able to, walk toward the giant mechanical door (as shown below) in front of you.
It is locked, and you will not be able to enter yet. Instead, go left and continue to do so until you reach a large open area with another locked door to the left. You will pass some… unique architecture on the way there, but do not stop until you see what is shown below.
At this point, take the downward path to the right until you reach the first door that you are able to open. Go ahead and squeeze through this entrance. You will find yourself in a grotesque room with something on either side.
On the right, you will see something that resembles a carriage or a cart.
On the left, there is an undeinably phallic contraption with an opening.
Go toward this contraption and get ready to interact with it.
Obtaining the Arm Key
Once you reach it, click on it and enjoy the grotesque cutscene in which you witness a strange key plant itself on your arm. This item will be essential in pretty much every single puzzle in Scorn. Keep this in mind for later if you ever need to grab the implant again.
Interacting With the Control Panel
Now that you arm has been freed from the contraption and you have a fleshy new key implanted on your arm, you can go to the other side of the room, toward the center. You will find another contraption you can interact with. This time, it is a control panel for the door in front of it.
Interact with the control panel and enjoy watching your character place his new key and other arm into it. The squelching sounds are truly spectacular.
You can now control the locks on either side of the door. Switch over to the left lack, activate it, and then do the same for the one on the right afterward.
The door will now slide open and you will be able to run through it (hold shift) so as to make it before it closes once again. The room you find yourself in will be familiar. You were above it on an elevated platform shortly before grabbing your key.
