The platform mechanic is a nice change, but it is a little confusing on how to unlock guns like the Lachmann Sub.

With the new platforms mechanic to weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the days of every gun being locked behind your level are long gone. Now you have to figure out what platform you are working with and how it branches to the particular gun you are wanting. This is the case with the SMG in question. Here’s how to unlock the Lachmann Sub MP5 in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

How to Get the Lachmann Sub in the CoD MW2

As said, you’re not looking at the smoothest upgrade path for the Modern Warfare 2 version of the iconic MP5. You’re going to need to turn yourself into a battle rifle user if you aren’t already.

Lachmann-762

The first thing you’ll need to do is hit level 16. This will unlock the Lachmann-762 battle rifle for use. You’ll need to use this until the weapon (not you) is level 12 and you will unlock the Lachmann-556 assault rifle.

Players in the MW2 beta needed to use the Lachmann-556 until they reached level 11. We’ll see how it works in the full release!
