While exploring Dazzle Beach in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll see a broken raft near an isolated island. To use this boat, you’ll need to interact with it to begin the Mysterious Wreck quest, where Goofy will help you craft a repair kit.

Once you talk to this character and obtain the Mysterious Paddle on the beach, you’ll need to collect several materials and make a kit at the Crafting Station. During this time, players must get these items:

  • 30 Hardwood
  • 7 Rope
  • 25 Clay
  • 10 Iron Ingot

The first item, Hardwood, can be found on the ground in various areas of Disney Dreamlight Valley, such as the Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust. These particular materials look similar to Softwood, but they have a different appearance in color. You can check out a comparison of the two wooden items here (Softwood on the left and Hardwood on the right):

In order to spawn Hardwood, you can place more Fir trees to generate more of this specific material. But, if you haven’t cleared out the blockage (large mushrooms) to certain areas, you can also open the Furniture tab and drag the item with the cursor, as shown here:

As for the Rope, you’ll need to make Fiber at the Crafting Station with Seaweed, an item that can be obtained from random fishing spots. While searching for this material, you can dig up some Clay at Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, or Forgotten Lands. Those who need additional help with this task can check out our guide on how to find Clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The final item you must get for the Mysterious Wreck quest is the Iron Ingot. You can make this resource at Crafting Stations with Iron Ore, which can be found when mining black rocks in various locations. Furthermore, these items typically spawn in Glade of Trust and Forest of Valor, but you can still try out different places to get Iron Ore.

After you’ve acquired all the materials, you can go to the Crafting Station and make the Raft Repair Kit. Then, you can use this product to fix the raft by returning to the initial area you started in. At this point, you’ll get to explore a new location where you can escort Ariel back to Dreamlight Valley.
