The world of Hocus Pocus returns this Friday, in which audiences will get to see the return of the Sanderson Sisters. So what actors can viewers expect to see make a return in the sequel? Well, Twinfinite has the answer for you, as this is all of the returning actors in Hocus Pocus 2.
All Returning Actors in Hocus Pocus 2
While the Hocus Pocus sequel does take place in the present, there are a few actors who return from the original and reprise their roles.
Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson
The award-winning actress and singer Bette Midler returns as the lead, Winifred Sanderson, a witch who is an expert at magic, especially when accompanied by Book. The singer/actress has earned herself a plethora of prestigious awards, including multiple Golden Globes, Tonys, Emmys, and Grammys, a fact which means that she is three-fourths of the way towards EGOT status. Midler has grown a massive following over the years and is a notable LGBTQ+ icon.
Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson
Kathy Najimy returns as the middle Sanderson Sister in Mary Sanderson, a witch who can seemingly smell out children and was the brunt of some of the classic Hocus Pocus jokes –Mary riding a vacuum instead of a broomstick, for instance. Along with the original Hocus Pocus, Najimy is best known for her work as Sister Mary Patrick in both Sister Act movies. Najimy is also a notable activist, where she will often speak on women and LGBT rights, among many others.
Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson
Sarah Jessica Parker rounds out the returning trio of witch sisters, with her returning to play as Sarah Sanderson. Her character is the youngest and fulfills the sort of “dumb blonde” stereotype as she is incredibly bubbly yet dimwitted. She is also often noted as the most beautiful and acts like a siren. As for Sarah Jessica Parker, she is best known for her work as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. However, Sarah Jessica Parker is famous for many other things, including her work in fashion and as a television producer.
Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson
The last returning character is Doug Jones, who is returning to the role of Billy Butcherson. For those who don’t remember, Billy is a misunderstood zombie who was resurrected during the original movie by his original killer, Winifred Sanderson. Doug Jones is incredibly famous for his portrayal of creatures and human-adjacent characters, with some of his most notable work being for movies such Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy, The Shape of Water, and Star Trek: Discovery.
