Excavation Site XII is a Destiny 2 Lost Sector that players will need to seek out in order to complete various weekly challenges. It’s guarded by Dust-Choked Thrag, who can also cause plenty of problems to players that find this well-hidden location. Destiny 2 Excavation Site XII Location
Excavation Site XII can be found in the Firebase Hades area of The Gulch, found in the EDZ, Earth.
Once you’ve landed at The Gulch, head west down the long road until you reach the opening of The Gulch.
Now follow the wall to your left, dropping down when this ledge ends and keep hugging the wall until you find some trees. Here, you’ll find the white Lost Sector symbol painted on a rock at the bottom of the trees.
Look to the right of the white symbol and you’ll spot a cave you can head into.

Beating Dust-Choked Thrag in Destiny 2
When you arrive here, head down into the Lost Sector itself and drop down a level.
Follow the path around and you’ll eventually reach an area with some Legionnaires and Phalanx. Defeat these and then head out either of the two other paths out of this room. It doesn’t matter which.
Head across the bridge here and you’ll eventually reach Dust-Choked Thrag, the boss of the Excavation Site XII Lost Sector.
Thrag has a big gatling gun as well as heat-seeking rockets, so your best bet here is to use the environment as cover to avoid taking huge damage from these. Other adds will drop in here like Psions, Phalanx, and Legionnaires, so make sure you’re taking these out as and when they pop-up, before turning your attention back to Thrag.
The main thing to keep in mind here is to take your time and don’t get greedy with landing multiple hits on Dust-Choked Thrag. Pop-out, land some hits, and then hide behind cover or take the time to properly evade his attacks before dealing more damage.
Upon defeat, you’ll find the Lost Sector chest on the very top level, on the other side of the bridge.
