Nier Reincarnation: Best FFXIV Characters to Reroll For

While Nier Reincarnation is definitely one of the smaller niche titles in Square Enix’s growing library of mobile gacha games, it still stands out as being one of the best-looking gacha games with fantastic art and collaborations. The new Final Fantasy XIV collaboration event is no exception, as it comes with three new costumes and weapons that players can try to pull for. If you’re a new player just jumping into the game, here’s a breakdown of which FFXIV characters you should try to reroll for in Nier Reincarnation.

Best FFXIV Characters in Nier Reincarnation

To get straight to the point, Noelle – Phantasmal Weapon is the best FFXIV character in this collaboration, and new Nier Reincarnation players should absolutely try to go for her when starting up their account. If you’re not sure how to go about rerolling your account, we’ve got a comprehensive reroll guide going over all the steps you should take.

The reason why Noelle’s Phantasmal variant should be your number one pick is because she’s quickly emerging as one of the strongest DPS characters in the game. She boasts an incredibly high base attack stat, and also has a great defense stat that even rivals 063y – Phantasmal Prisoner, who’s supposed to be more of a tanky character in this collaboration.

The idea here is to try to get Noelle, level her up, and she’ll be able to perform as a hard DPS carry for your party and smash through the story quests and other daily content.

Your second choice should be Rion – Phantasmal Exile, who can serve as a fantastic support character for your party thanks to the weapon he comes with. As a new player, you might not have access to other healers in the game, so Phantasmal Exile will be a great option for you.

His staff, Thyrus, comes with a skill that not only heals the party, but also removes a debuff, which can be invaluable for a lot of the harder content in the game. Again, Noelle should absolutely be your top priority as a new player, but if you can pick up Rion along the way, that will give you a better headstart.

Finally, 063y – Phantasmal Prisoner is easily the weakest FFXIV character of the bunch. His defense stat isn’t all that impressive and his attack is just alright, though he does come with a ton of HP, which will allow him to tank a lot of attacks for your party. The only issue is that tanks aren’t actually all that important for the PvE content in Nier Reincarnation. Once you have a strong DPS character, they can usually carry you through all that content without even needing a tank.

With that said, if you happen to land on 063y while rerolling your account, you’ll definitely want to consider continuing the rerolling process until you manage to nab Noelle or Rion at the very least.

Should You Spend All Your Gems on the FFXIV Banner?

And with all of that out of the way, it’s also important to note that as a new player, you should probably spend all of your Gems pulling on the FFXIV banner. Like any other gacha game, Nier Reincarnation also features an ascension mechanic that allows you to increase the level cap on your characters, and this cap goes up to 90.

In order to ascend them, however, you’ll need dupes of that character or special items called Texts and Handbooks, which are very valuable and rare in this game. Each ascension will raise the level cap by 5, so you’ll need four duplicates in order to bring their level cap up from 70 to 90.

In addition to that, you also have plenty of opportunity to rack up a large number of Gems from first clear rewards as you play through the story quests and events. With all these Gems at your disposal, it’s definitely worthwhile to throw them all at the banner until you’re able to max out at least one of your FFXIV characters.

Once you’ve reached 200 pulls on the banner, you’ll also be able to exchange your banner points for any FFXIV characters of your choice, allowing you to get that much closer to max ascension. Essentially, you’ll want to keep pulling until you’ve maxed out one character and their weapon, and then you can start to think about saving your Gems for future events.

That’s all you need to know about which FFXIV character you should try to pull for in Nier Reincarnation. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
