Warzone: How to Fix ‘Current Profile Is Not Allowed to Play’ Error

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 has arrived, and brought with it a number of new locations, weapons and cosmetics for players to grind out as they try and get those dubs. Unfortunately, a number of players appear to be getting hit with a ‘Current Profile Is Not Allowed to Play’ error message when trying to play Warzone following the latest update.

What Is the ‘Current Profile Not Allowed to Play’ Error?

This error message appears to only be affecting Warzone players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

In particular it’s only affecting those that have an Xbox Live Silver membership. This only grants access to play free-to-play online games, and not the full ‘multiplayer’ components of games.

For example, you should be able to play Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone with an Xbox Live Silver membership, but you can’t play Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer with one.

How to Fix Warzone’s Current Profile Not Allowed to Play Error on Xbox

Unfortunately, at the time of writing there’s no way for Xbox Live Silver members to get around this problem other than paying for an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Xbox Live Gold memberships can be purchased for $9.99 for one month.

The good news is that this shouldn’t be an issue and Raven Software is aware of the problem and actively looking into fixing it. The developer tweeted its acknowledgement of the issue earlier today.

They’ve also created a card on the ‘Issues’ section of its Trello board, and it currently has a status of ‘Investigating.’ You can check the progress of the issue here.

With a bit of luck, it won’t take too much longer for Raven Software to get to the bottom of the issues. In the meantime, you’ll either have to bide your time, or access the game via an account that has Xbox Live Gold or a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
